Shrewsbury

featured landscaper

You have lots of options in Shrewsbury.

The simplest way to find your landscaper is Word of Mouth. Talk to friends and neighbors.  Ask people who work in the area home improvement stores or plant nurseries to find who they recommend.  People in the business can be a great source of practical information. Check also with any lawn cutting services or people who do any sort of outside contracting.  They may do landscape contracting themselves, but if not they will probably know who the good contractors are. They will be happy to give you recommendations.

Of course you can find many possible contractors by a Google search. Just type “Shrewsbury landscape contractors” into the search box.

Angie’s List is a top resource as well. They charge a modest subscription fee, but you can get many ratings and loads of detailed information about your perspective contractor.

Yelp is a free on line resource. Their online directory and ratings of service providers can give you a good feel for who to consider.  These reviews are written by past customers about their experience.

HomeAdvisor is a national resource.  They rate many types of contractors, including landscape contractors.

Or you could go old school and try the Yellow Pages. They have modernized the classic bood form to an on line presence that anyone can search.

After putting together your long list of possible contractors, start to give them each a call.  Over the phone you can usually get a feel for what their working style is likely to be.  If you have good rapport from that first call, schedule a time for them come out in person. They will be able to see your space, discuss options, and make initial recommendations.

Prior to making a final decision, check their background at the Better Business Bureau. Any reliable contractor will have appropriate licenses and insurance.

If this seems like a lot of work, just remember that the effort you put into screening and selecting the best landscape contractor for you at the beginning will pay off in a smooth relationship and a great project in the long run.
