There are plenty of landscapers to choose from in Worcester.

The easiest way is Word of Mouth. Talk to your friends and neighbors.  Try people who work in local home improvement stores or nurseries to find out who they would recommend.  They often can give you the inside scoop. Don’t forget to check in with lawn cutting services and anyone who does outside contracting because even if they don’t know they will know who the good contractors are. Just ask who they would recommend and why.

You can find more possible contractors by doing a simple Google search. Just type “landscape contractors in Worcester” into the search box.

Angie’s List is a great resource as well. There’s a subscription fee but you can get lots of ratings and detailed information about the contractor that would be hard to find other wise.

Yelp can be a great resource as well. Yelp is an online directory of different service providers and they have both start type reviews and comments from people who have use their services in the past.

HomeAdvisor is a another resource.  They rate a wide range of contractors including landscape contractors.

If all else fails there’s always the Yellow Pages. These days you can access them on line as well as in the traditional paper directory.

Once you have a list of possible contractors, just give them a call.  If the initial call seems ok, have them come out and meet you. They can take a look at your space, talk about project options, and discuss their recommendations.

Before you make a final decision be sure to check out your prospective contractor at the Better Business Bureau. Contractors should have appropriate licenses and insurance. An occasional problem is the past may be ok if they went the extra mile to put it right.

In the end, trust your instincts. If you don’t get a good feeling from any particular contractor, there are plenty more to choose from.
